Trusting God

August 13, 2008

From Catherine Hickem, speaker and author of “Raising Your Children With No Regrets”

Whether you’re cradling an infant in your arms or saying goodbye as your child leaves for college, God wants you to know He is worthy of the honor that comes with trusting Him with your children. When you share your heart with God and say, “I can’t do this thing called motherhood anymore!” you will probably hear His sigh of relief. When you finally let go, He will step into your life and the life of your child.

Robin: So many times I try to be everything for my kids and I even, humanly, take ownership of them without even realizing it.  Someone once told me (when William and I had Nathan) that when we were first handed our children as newborns, we extended our arms and God “gave” them to us.  That is the way we should “hold on” to them throughout their lives… with our arms extended, realizing that we should continually “give them back” to Him.

For anyone in need of encouragement, there’s some great posts today on http://www.biblicalwomanhoodonline.com/blog.htm (Crystal Paine’s other blog) see link to right.
